Journey to the largest mountainous river of Altai – the Katun River. A week in the mountains with everyday hiking, immersion to nomadic culture, craft workshops and adventure activities. Everyday you will enjoy excursions to main landmarks of Altai.

Airport of arrival – international flight to Novosibirsk. Otherwise flight to Moscow and then domestic flight to Barnaul or Gorno-Altaisk

Acquaintance with Altai

Arrival and accommodation

Day 2

Klondike of Altai

Excursion to Chemal and a workshop in Askat craftsmen village. Patmos Island, hiking excursion to Chemal Hydroelectric Power Station

Day 3

The Taming of the Shrew

Rafting on the Katun River (or motorafting) and a visiting the maral farm. Visit the Kamyshlinskiy waterfall

Day 4

Visiting shamans

Tour of the Karakol Valley (archaeological and ethnographic program). You will see burial mounds, rock drawings, stone steles of various historical ages. Altai throat singing concert, traditional nomadic cuisine

Day 5

Turquoise Katun

Cableway to Mt Malaya Sinyukha, Tavdinsky caves and excursion to apiary where you learn about the secrets of beekeeping

Day 6

Valley of the Mountain Spirits

Hiking along mountainous gorge Che-Chkysh and horse riding

Day 7

Farewell to Altai!

A car transfer to the airports of Barnaul or Novosibirsk. National Museum of the Altai, mummy of the Ukok Princess. City tour. Accommodation at the hotel in Barnaul or Novosibirsk. For those who departing from Gorno-Altaisk - a day of rest in the hotel

Farewell to Altai!

Flight to Moscow or other city
