Itineraries

Day 1

Arrival to Altai

Upon your arrival we will pick you up at the airport of Gorno-Altaisk. Excursion to the National Museum of the Altai Republic, mummy of the Princess of Ukok. Transfer to the hotel. After lunch walking tour to Chemal village (orthodox church of the St. John the Evangelist, Chemalskaya power station). Hiking to Che-Chkysh Gorge to enjoy sundown over the Katun River’s valley.

Day 2

Treasures of the Katun River

Thrilling activities. White water rafting at the Katun River with stop near the Kamyshlinsky Waterfall. Afternoon – visit to maral breeding farm with horse back riding excursion.

Day 3

Car excursion along the Chuisky Trakt

Today you explore the most beautiful mountainous highway in Russia. Seminsky Pass and Siberian pine tree taiga, rocky serpentine of Chike-Taman Pass, awesome Ilgumensky Rapid on the Katun River, famous boms of Chuisky Trakt (bom is a local name to rocky and steep banks of the river near the highway), rock drawings of Kalbak-Tash sanctuary, waterfalls near Chibit village and Geizernoye Lake.

Day 4

Aqcuantence with nomadic culture of Altai people

Early weak up hiking to the viewpoint for meeting sunrise over the North-Chuisky Ridge. After breakfast return travel along the Chuisky Trakt to Uch-Enmek natural and ethnographic Park and Karakol Valley. Here you will get acquainted with local people, cook traditional nomadic meals, enjoy the throat singing.

Day 5

Farewell to Altai

Early weak up (4.30 am) and land transportation to the airport of Gorno-Altaisk (flight at 10.05).
