Itineraries
Day 1
Welcome to the capital of Russia - Moscow!
Meeting at the airport with English Speaking guide and private transfer in a luxury vehicle to the centrally located hotel. The rest of the day – at leisure.Day 2
Red Square, GUM, Kremlin territory, cathedrals, Armoury museum
Your private vehicle and the guide will be waiting for you to invite you for an exciting tour of Moscow which is more than 878 years old. Our first stop is at the Red Square. Originally a commercial centre, Red Square has been at the very centre of Russian history since the 15th century, from Ivan the Terrible’s confession of his misdeeds to the people in 1550, to great demonstrations, executions and the great parades of the Soviet Union’s military might. Ironically, “krasny” originally meant beautiful; it came to mean “red” only in the last century! From the time of Ivan the Great the square was used as a huge gathering place for public events, markets, fairs and festivals. The magnificent square encompasses an area of over $ 70,000 square metres and is bounded by the Kremlin walls, St.Bazil’s cathedral, the Historical museum and GUM departments store, the shopping arcade, that was completed in 1893. At the southern end of Red Square is the almost fairy-tale like building of St Basil’s cathedral, commissioned in 1552 by Ivan the Terrible to celebrate his conquering of Kazan; legend has it that the architect was later blinded so that he could never repeat such a building that is so traditionally Russian. It is built of brick and comprises many colourful asymmetrical helmet & onion domes situated over nine chapels. Time for lunch Go to the best viewpoint on Sparrow hills, from which you could easily see most of the city. Sink in the atmosphere of the medieval Russia, when even daughters of tsars were doomed to become nuns (such were the rules, visiting the refined New Maiden Convent (outside). This is one of the most beautiful of the city collection of buildings, located to the south-west of the city centre, with 16 gilded domes, founded in 1524. Many noble women, including Peter the Great’s first wife and his sister took vows and spent the rest of their lives here and are buried here. PM Kremlin territory, cathedrals, Armoury museum After lunch visit the oldest part of Moscow – the Kremlin. You might be surprised how many ancient and magnificent structures one can see within its walls: 15th century cathedrals (the coronation, wedding and bury place of Russian rulers), bell-tower, Patriach’s Palace, Grand Kremlin Palace and of course the richest museum - Armoury. The Armoury has a fantastic collection of insignia of Imperial power, precious clothes, ceremonial harness and unique collection of imperial carriages. The 17th century throne of Alexey Romanov covered with a mosaic of turquoises and 900 diamonds, a pheloneon of Metropolitan Platon decorated with 150,000 pearls (it took the embroiderer 2 years to work on the pattern!), the famous Faberge eggs – is a tiny part of the whole collection.Day 3

AM - Miracle City” or “Chudo Grad” in Izmaylovo – open air souvenir market and matryoshka painting class We offer you the visit to Russian handicraft centre – Izmaylovo, famous for its open air souvenir market. Izmaylovo is one of the oldest parts of Moscow, where the second Romanov Tsar Alexey Mikhailovich had his summer residence where his son Peter the Great was brought up. At the present moment the complex occupies the territory of 17 hectares and includes: trade town (with streets of private booth-shops where the clients can see and buy great variety of traditional Russian crafts objects – famous matryoshkas, wood-carving goods, porcelain, glass, birch bark items, Russian Army uniforms, badges, etc.), traditional crafts workshops where once can see the process of creation of handicraft items, “Russian Yard” – a copy of a traditional wooden settlement with wooden churches, houses. Enjoy Matryoshka (the famous Russian nestling dolls) painting class! The guests are taken to the classes of Applied Art College where they attend a lesson of traditional Russian painting of matryoshka doll. The clients get acquainted with the techniques of painting, get the set of paints and a wooden unpainted doll to make an attempt to do the painting themselves and get the painted item as souvenir. After the painting class the guests may spend time in the market looking for the souvenirs. Time for lunch PM VDNKH park - Metro ride Then you’ll continue by car to a very interesting place, called “VDNKH” called now “VVTS” – All Russia Exhibition centre. Once known as the Exhibition of the People's Economic Achievements, this vast exhibition ground was established in the time of Stalin to showcase the achievements of communism. History of “Russia's Main Exhibition” began from request of the 2nd All-Union Congress of Collective Shock- Farmers to the central bodies of the Communist party and government to organize in Moscow the All-Union Exhibition of Agriculture. The request was satisfied, and the Head Exhibition Committee was formed in 1939, at the time of Stalin’s regime. The All-Union Exhibition of Agriculture has become an original contribution into the capital’s city architecture. An exhibition city that had sprung to life near its northern border on a 136 ha area included ponds, parks, experimental plots, 250 constructions of all kinds. The alleys of the complex is famous place for roller-skaters. Each pavilion was distinguished for its own original features based on use in construction of the national motives. In 1990 the place went sadly dilapidated - mainly busy with different trading centres and shops. Now the region sees the 2nd birth with lots of investment here when the old pavilions get new life, new pavilions are constructed, lots of restoration work is going on, flowerbeds and parks laid out . Today it is not only the favorite place for locals to walk or cycle (in winter there is a biggest skating rink here) but also a place of different exhibitions and museums including the newly opened Space Pavillion. Continue for Moscow underground. Moscow underground is not only the fastest means of transportation in the city but also a unique architectural ensemble. Major stations built in 30s of last century look like palaces richly decorated with marble, mosaic and semi-precious stones. During the tour you will visit the oldest and the most beautiful metro-stations. The guide will tell you thrilling facts of these “underground palaces” – each of these stations may be rightfully called a jewel of the world’s underground architecture.Day 4
