Kazakhstan is the state in the centre of Eurasia, member of CIS countries, one of the former Soviet republics, borders with Russia and historically and economically has many tight connections with the latter. After USSR collapse Russia has been renting the “Baikonyr” space-vehicle launching site located in Kazakhstan – from which all space missions start. The country’s population is 20 mln people and the territory is over 2 724 000 sq km (9th biggest in the world). It is the biggest country in the world (by its territory) among the states where Turk population makes for majority in the country. It is a multinational state. 75% are Moslems and 18 percent are Christians. The country has diverse landscapes, 10 national parks and 10 national reserves. Itineraries

Day 1

Welcome to Almaty

Arrive Almaty, southern capital of Kazakhstan. Meeting at the airport with English Speaking guide and private transfer to the centrally located hotel. In the afternoon we start for the tour in Almaty “Golden Quadrate” – we will visit one of the first parks of the city, see cathedrals, museums, oriental market, walk on the pavement of 1930-s – to feel the spirit of the old city of Almaty rich in culture and history. After our tour we leave you in the centre of the city with variety of restaurants – to have dinner on your own.

Day 2

Ethno-Centre NOMAD

Meeting the guide in the morning and transfer to Ethno-Centre NOMAD located within 2 hrs drive from the city. The Centre is a unique historic-ethnographic complex located at the foothill of Ushkanyr. It gives introduction to traditions, culture and everyday life of The Great Steppe’ s Nomad tribes – Turks, Kazakhs, Sakis, Usuneys. You will get acquainted with the war art of the nomads, their plate armour and weaponry. You will participate in national games, try horse riding, archery. Delicious lunch with traditional pilaf awaits you! After lunch we start for Alma- Arasan clove for Falcon show. The reserve was founded with the aim of preservation and study of birds of prey. Golden eagle, white-tailed eagle, saker falcon and other demonstrate their skills in 45-minute show. Afterwards we drive to the barrage (1780 m high) in Alma- Arasan clove – Ajusan centre – where the guests can admire the sunset, have dinner. Departure back to the city.

Day 3

Charyn or Red canyon

We start early in the morning to the unique Charyn or Red canyon located 240 km from Almaty (3 hr drive). The canyon is 12 mln year old and its length is 154 km – along the Charyn river. The most impressive object – so called Castle valley. During the centuries of its existence as a result of sedimentary rocks’ decay distance – strange and unusual relief forms appeared – looking like towers, castles, stellas. Hence the name – Castle valley. We walk along the valley about 3 km and then take a break and drive back.

Day 4

Time to say good-bye!

The private vehicle and the guide will take you to the airport for departure flight.
