Day 1
WELLCOME TO ALTAI!
We arrive from Moscow to Gorno-Altaysk, and after breakfast served in Altai Palace restaurant, we speed along the Katun River on motor-rafts, in the evening, a bathhouse and a campfire. Accommodation of the day Klever Resort 4* hotelDay 2
SACRED VALLEY
Today we will start our off-road route and spend the night on the Terekta Riverside in tents. Significant deviations, dirt, sharp stones, fords, snow fields – conditions in June or September. Vehicles – Toyota LC105 + Nissan Safari, our drivers are masters of sports and vice world champions. This is our team we drive with through Asia since 2006. Broken wheels, bent sills, breakdowns and ford difficulties are possible on the way. In the evening – camp set up, dinner, campfire, good sleep in tents.Day 3
FORDS DAY
From the Altai world (Karakol Valley) we step over the ridge to the world of Russian Old Believers (Uimon Valley). After breakfast we’re leaving towards Terekta village, pass a dozen of fords, sometimes we’re walking right through the river in the taiga, come to Terekta village and go down to the Uimon Valley - the country of Belovodye, the land of Old Believers, which is amazing in its beauty, purity and scope. In Raisa Pavlovna Kuchuganova’s book, the creator and head of the ethnographic museum of Verkh-Uimon village, there are such lines: "Anyone who has been here at least once, reaches here with his soul and will certainly return to meet again with pristine beauty, to feel its purifying power and power." TAIGA RIVER
Today we say goodbye to our team of jeep drivers and throw ourselves up the Tyuguryuk River (or the Krasnoyarka River) and start rafting. We are thrown up the river (we’ll assign the river closer to the trip dates, based on the water level and access roads) by GAZ-66 vehicle (if necessary – the equipment is carried by a truck and horses). Then, instructions and equipping for rafting - oars, helmets, life jackets and waterproof suits are provided. We start rafting with rapids, waves and accelerations, when you need to row and listen to the instructors. Rafts will not be turned over unless the team requests them to be turned over. You can raft in several small rafts, or one huge, upon the group request. The total length of rafting is 40-50 km. The rafting takes place in the wild taiga along the cleanest rivers with water you can drink. Food is prepared on the route, overnight tents are set up in picturesque places on the shore or on islands in the middle of the river with wonderful views of untouched Siberian nature open to travelers’ eyes. These places can only be seen moving along rivers. Experienced certified instructors will ensure the safety and comfort of our trip. Overnight in tents.Day 5
IN THE HEART OF ALTAI MOUNTAINS
Rafting day along the mountain taiga river until evening. Morning starts at the camping on the riverside, breakfast, rafting until lunch, lunch and rafting until evening. All day we enjoy the uniqueness and pristine nature of Altai landscapes. We sail to Ust-Koksa village and drive about three kilometers to Argut Hotel.Day 6
THE HIGHEST MOUNT OF SIBERIA
Today we will admire the highest point of Altai and all Siberia - Mount Belukha (if weather allows). After breakfast departure to Tungur village by UAZ vehicle. According to weather conditions you can make a flight to Lake Akkem by Roninson R66 helicopter - opnionally activity (do not include to the price). Those who have left, can make horse-riding pass to the Terektinsky ridge with minor ascent to admire Mount Belukha from 50 km distance. BICYCLING ALONG THE KATUN RIVER
Today we will ride an amazing area from Tungur to Inegen by mountain bikes. Water and snacks instead of lunch are in backpacks. We are going to the finish line, no way to give up, the lands are wild and deserted, there’s no transport support. We will see the famous Akkem breakthrough on the Katun River, the mouth of the Argut River on the way. Mountain biking experience is required, some parts of the trail are walked. There is a risk of falling! Afternoon we will finish our bike expedition and drive towards the Kurai steppe, our luggage will reach us only by evening. We will admire the sunset overlooking the North Chuysky ridge. Overnight in comfortable glamping with snowcapped mountains view.Day 8
CHULYSHMAN CANYON
Today we descend into the largest canyon of Altai, to the Chulyshman River along the most dangerous Katu-Yaryk Pass. We meet the dawn in the Kurai steppe, then departing by minibus to the Geyser Lake - a reservoir of amazing color, where the pattern and the color of the bottom are constantly changing. Further, our way lies through Aktash and Ulagan villages, the Red Gate and the famous Pazyryk mounds till the Katu-Yaryk Pass. We admire the Chulyshman River from the bird's eyes view before descending 900 meters during 4 km. Lunch enroute. Arrival to Stone Mushrooms tourist complex and dinner at the cafe. THE BIGGEST WATERFALL IN ALTAI
Today we are heading to Uchar waterfalls on the Chulcha River. Early breakfast at 6.00 am. Then we cross the Chulyshman River and start trekking to the waterfall. The total distance of the mountain trails that we have to go is more than 20 km. Only trained members can participate today. This is the most difficult trekking of our route. In case of participation, you have to train (jogging, trekking, fitness) before the trip! Attention, there are difficult areas where you need to cross rivers along narrow logs, climb iron brackets on rocks, climb and go down steep rocks, wade through bushes. But the beauty of Uchar Falls (Imperishable), 160 meters high, is worth all the efforts. Trekking takes place in the Altai Reserve, one of the oldest reserves in Russia (founded in 1932). LAKE TELETSKOE
In the morning, we go to the Stone Mushrooms and drive to Lake Teletskoye, visit the cordon of the Bele Nature Reserve, then, through the Korbu waterfall, we go to Altay Village hotel by speed boat. QUADRICYCLE DAY
Riding quadricycles through the taiga and visit the apiary (according to the weather) We go to Artybash village by speed boat, having clothes and shoes to change. After instructing, we go to the taiga by quadricycles. Dirt, rugged terrain, fallen trees, steep slopes - all the delights of the taiga near Lake Teletskoe. Change clothes and lunch in Gornoe Ozero tourist complex cafe. We go to the apiary, where we will hear interesting stories about the life of bees and beekeepers, bears and honey. FAREWELL TO ALTAI. WE WILL BE BACK!
Today we depart to Moscow. Early weak up and transfer to Gorno-Altaisk airport. Flight to MoscowThe price includes – full board meal (except the dinner in the restaurant in Altay Village Hotel), accommodation according to the program, camping equipment rent, jeep transfers, guide accompany, excursions and activities, entrance fee, permits to Natural Parks and border permits, bottled water, visa supporting documents.
Not included – flights, alcohol, Russian visa fee, personal expenses, helicopter excursion to Mt Belukha, dinner at Altay Village Hotel Restaurant. Additionally – the cost to Mt Belukha Helicopter flight – 2700 USD / 2300 EURO for Robinson R66 helicopter. Includes 4 passengers, flight from Tyungut Village to Mt Belukha, lending on the Belukha foothills, trekking 1 hour, returning to Tyungur Village.
